Once upon a blog..

Its been 1 month and 13 days since Ive been living in France. I live in a charming little city called Rouen in upper Normandy. I love the place and in all the time Ive spent here, I havent visited a single museum or historical monument! I have been occupied with god knows what! I have managed to visit a few Tea salons (strangely this town in France has a strong tea culture!) and many of the Patisseries around town, inorder to get fat on the macarons and other sucreries :) I love the different restaurants in France but cant seem to understand why the French would allow their dogs to come in with them! Im sorry but its just disgusting to have a canine sit with you at the same table as you and your foie gras! Dont get me wrong, I love animals but Im not the kind to sit at a table laden with meats and talk my furry friend into behaving himself! Since we're on the topic, do taste Foie Gras at some stage in your life, it is really a culinary masterpiece.
Besides that Ive had the most fun time with French bureaucracy, I finally got the immaculate Titre de Séjour which allows me to stay and work legally in this glorious country. I have to undergo loads of other formalities to receive other benefits from the government and that means battling more stereotypes about my country, having really crappy days of form filling, convincing my pedagogical advisor to actually speak to me in person and all sorts of fun fun activities that will make my stay a really memorable one :D
The best part of my stay in France (truly minus the sarcasm) is that I get to teach English to adorable French kids. I have to commute to my schools (of which 1 is a real hell hole) and then I have the best time of my life getting French students all enthusiastic about the English language, and strangely I even have to ever so gently convince the French teachers teaching English that using English will not do them any harm!
Plus just like magic I am totally over my ex boyfriend. Well my best friend say he technically was not my boyfriend because nobody knew we were even dating. Well I decided to take care of that and post-break up I told lots of common friends that I dated him, which I feel now was quite unnecessary because its really not good for my reputation when people know that I dated my professor. Welcome to my world! So yes, at the moment I am 22 years old (and for some reason everyone thinks Im atleast 30, woo hoo!), Im trying to make the best of my year in France, trying to figure out who I am, and trying my best to not fall in love because that happens to me more easily than it should! I do know what I want though I want to travel a lot and teach and a bunch of other things, Im gonna start working on my travelling idea just as soon as I save up enough cash, get myself of the damn sofa and away from the freaking jar of nutella! (which has become a new obsession of mine ever since I came to France!)
So Im not sure how faithful I will be to my blog but I will try my best to pen down my memories. Now all I need is something really exciting to happen!
